Reiki Images

Whether you are just beginning to learn Reiki or have some experience with it already, it is extremely important to gain mastery of the various Reiki images and symbols if you would like to progress further. These symbols enable the user to connect to the universal Life Force when healing - a necessity if one wishes to heal a patient. This Force is utilized as the healer’s source of healing energy; it is channeled by the healer into the patient in order to restore his or her energy balance. An energy imbalance is of course the root of many if not all sicknesses, disorders and illnesses.

In order for each healer to bring about a true healing, each of these important symbols must be visualized, drawn or crafted according to the proper procedure. It is not sufficient to simply know about each symbol, what it can do, and so on and so forth. That said, though, each of these symbols is useless by itself. You need to have been initiated first before each symbol can actually be used to heal a patient.

Here is a basic run through of the four key Reiki images and symbols in the more traditional sort of Reiki. These are Cho Ku Rei; Sei He Ki; Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen; and Dai Ko Myo.

Cho Ku Rei is most often called the Power Symbol. This is because a healer can make use of it to increase the power of his or her healing. It can be thought of as a switch that, when flipped, can instantly increase the amount of energy that can be channeled. If a healer can draw or visualize this symbol, he or she can either access more healing energy, or increase the energy of the other images and symbols as well - or both! Cho Ku Rei can be utilized at any point during a treatment, but if the healer makes use of it at both the start and at the end of the session, it can be even more effective and the treatment has a far higher chance of succeeding. Also, it can be used to cleanse a room of negative energies, and can even be used for protection as well.

For its part, Sei He Ki is referred to as the Mental/Emotional symbol. It focuses on correcting emotional and mental imbalances that plague patients by harmonizing our minds with our bodies, and helps the patient find peace and harmony. Functionally speaking, it aids in mental and emotional healing by balancing the left and right sides of the brain. As such it can serve as an excellent treatment for problems such as extreme or debilitating nervousness, depression, sadness, inability to manage one’s anger or temper, and so on and so forth. Plus it can help increase memory retention, which may be important for those wishing to prepare for examinations or improve grades.

Lastly, Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is the Distance symbol. This is the symbol to be utilized for distance healing, or healing those who are not physically present - or sending energy to distant people or places for healing, cleansing or other purposes. As a matter of fact energy can also be sent through time, to the past or the future, through the use of this symbol. As a result, many Reiki healers often consider Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen the most powerful of these three symbols.

The last of the key Reiki images and symbols, Dai Ko Myo is known as the Master Symbol. This is the strongest of all the key Symbols, used by Masters at the highest levels of attunement because it help them attune people or practitioners.
